Lanosterol is a metabolite of wool fatty acids, which can reduce the formation of antioxidant components in cataract patients and assist in improving cataract symptoms to a certain extent. However, there is currently no medication for treating cataracts with lanosterol in clinical practice. Lanosterol is mainly used for age-related cataracts or as an adjuvant therapy after cataract surgery.
